The Future of Shafer…Power!

Shafer…Power! is off to a great start.  We’ve learned some things, sold some things and the kids are having a lot of fun.  And based on what we learned from the Mast Brothers about making chocolate, I’m pretty sure we’re going to give it a try (making homemade chocolate) to see if we can move some product during our community thrift sale later this month. A Chocolate Making Family’s Journey of Entrepreneurism

One of the best parts of the entrepreneurial journey is the research and learning (let’s call it discovery) that’s done along the way.  It seems as though there is something new around every corner and if you open your mind to it, it’ll stretch you like never before.  For example, I was recently reading the blog of an aspiring entrepreneur and he recommended three or four podcasts he listens to on a weekly basis for the purpose of being inspired.  I decided to take a shot with one of them and can honestly say it’s changing my life.

Reflections of a 40-Something Dad

Jesterbucks = Success

Our neighborhood coffee stand is in the books and it was a wild success!  After borrowing a page from that other large coffee chain, we served Pike Place Roast, chocolate milk and donuts during this morning’s event. The name of our stand – Jesterbucks – even had a familiar ring to it as we incorporated the name of our subdivision + bucks (fingers crossed this isn’t a trademark infringement).  We had approximately 20-25 visitors and grossed $22.45.

It’s On! Jesterbucks Coffee Stand, Sunday from 8-10

The journey continues.  The kids will be hosting their first neighborhood lemona…ahem…coffee stand, tomorrow from 8 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.  We’re headed out to post some flyers and then to pick up our supplies.  Their energy level is at an all-time high.  Somebody is going to sleep well tonight.  Shafer…Power!
