Since most entrepreneurial journeys begin with a neighborhood lemonade stand, I figured now would be a great time for us to give it a try. After all, we’ve just kicked off our entrepreneurial journey and it will be fun and easy for us to pull it together, right? Not only that, but there’s sure to be some learning opportunities along the way. Hey, fun and educational – two of our four goals – in one fell swoop. I love it when a plan comes together!

I had some quality time to think about Shafer…Power! this weekend as I got out for both a run and a walk. It’s amazing how the creative juices get flowing when you put your body in motion. I’ve been spending some time thinking about goals for Shafer…Power! and thought it made sense to put them in writing. Since I’m already working a full-time job and doing a little lot of parenting on the side, I want to ensure we’re making the most of our adventure. In terms of a big picture goal, I’d like to introduce the kids to entrepreneurism. Specifically, we’re going to meet some successful entrepreneurs and take part in a few of our own entrepreneurial projects. Our other goals are as follows:
When I was a little boy, I wanted to be a professional athlete. Specifically, I wanted to be a professional basketball player. I used to shoot hoops all day long and pretended I played for the Milwaukee Bucks. Come to think of it, I wanted to be a professional football player too. I would emulate the quarterback of the Green Bay Packers by throwing bombs to my big brother in our front yard.
